Music Drama Dance & The Arts
Wales has a Worldwide reputation for its' music - The welsh male voice choir is renowned both at home and abroad, helped by renditions of such classic hymns as Cwm Rhondda at international rugby fixtures across Europe. The Welsh National Opera is World renowned often performing at the largest opera houses on all continents. Actors of the stature of Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins are unsurpassed. Now the reputation is now being enhanced by the latest crop of Welsh bands - Catatonia, Super Furry Animals, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers are just some who have followed the likes of Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Bryn Terfell who are huge stars in their own fields. The Welsh Eisteddfod attracts performers from across the planet to dance, sing and play their music. Literature and poetry from Wales is also well know with the name Dylan Thomas a famous example.
