Cardiff Bay has a newly formed freshwater lake held back from the sea by a barrage. Massive sea lock gates will allow access to and from the bay which is fed by the waters of the rivers Taff and Ely. The first picture shows the barrage from afar with the sand bank, the lock gate and Penarth Head to the right. The grass to the front of the picture is now under water for good, as can be seen on Page Two.

Picture two shows, in the distance, the new road bridge spanning the mouth of the River Taff as it enters the Bay. All the foreground is now underwater.

Further photographs of landmarks around the Bay area.
